In 1976, JLG introduced its very first scissor lift — the engine-powered Sizzor 15S — marking a major milestone in the company’s history and the access industry as a whole. Building on the success of its first boom lift launched in 1970, JLG expanded its portfolio to give customers more ways to work safely and productively at height.

Fifty years later, scissor lifts remain central to JLG’s mission, and the innovation continues to evolve to meet the demands of today’s job sites.

From early engine-powered machines to modern electric and connected platforms, JLG scissor lifts have continuously advanced in performance, maneuverability and efficiency. That progression is driven by two constants:

  1. Listening to customers
  2. Designing equipment that helps them do more in less space, with greater confidence

A perfect example of that forward-looking approach is the new JLG® ES2632M micro-sized scissor lift.

Designed for tight and space-constrained environments, the ES2632M delivers big performance in a compact package. With a 25-ft 6-in indoor platform height, best-in-class 600-lb platform capacity and a narrow 32-inch machine width, the ES2632M is built to access areas where maneuverability matters most, without sacrificing productivity.

Features like QuikFold rails allow the platform rails to fold down in seconds, making it easier to pass through standard doorways, while a zero turning radius supports precise movement in congested areas. To help protect delicate work surfaces, the ES2632M comes standard with a leak containment system designed to capture potential fluid leaks.

Productivity is further enhanced with JLG-exclusive onboard technologies, including Progressive Elevated Drive, Variable Tilt and ClearSky Smart Fleet™ IoT fleet management, helping operators maintain control, maximize uptime and improve fleet visibility. For added versatility, the ES2632M can also be configured with an optional integrated mid-rail deck, providing an additional 19.5-in of platform height when extra reach is needed.

As JLG celebrates 50 years of scissor lift innovation, machines like the new ES2632M micro-sized scissor lift, demonstrate how that legacy continues, combining decades of access expertise with modern technology and customer-inspired design. From the original Sizzor 15S to today’s micro-sized solutions, JLG remains committed to helping customers reach higher, work smarter and move forward with confidence.
