JLG to Display LiftPod at World Workplace 2011

lunes, 17 de octubre de 2011
McConnellsburg, Pa. (October 18, 2011) — JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK], will exhibit its line of LiftPod® personal portable lifts at booth # 1801 during the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) World Workplace 2011 Conference & Expo, which will take place October 26–28, 2011, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix.

The LiftPod provides facility professionals with a low-level access alternative to ladders, scaffolding and rolling ladders, and is ideal for workers who require a productive, affordable, safe and portable option when working at a variety of heights.

The LiftPod personal portable lift provides the stability of a platform, and can be easily operated by just one person. The worker can enter the platform and begin the job at once, immediately boosting productivity. In addition, the LiftPod consists of just three lightweight components, each weighing 50 pounds. Easy to transport and maneuver between worksites, it can be assembled and disassembled in less than 30 seconds. Once disassembled, the LiftPod conveniently fits into the back of a pick-up truck, van or SUV.

Safety is a top priority for building facility managers, maintenance professionals, building owners and property managers. The LiftPod helps to significantly reduce risk and improve fall protection for workers as compared to the use of a ladder, which is the second most frequently cited standard by OSHA. To further increase safety, workers in the personal lift have complete, hands-free 360-degree range of motion in an enclosed carriage and a secure platform.

With an attachable work tray that holds up to 33 pounds of tools and materials, the LiftPod—available for a minimum investment of less than $2,500—has a 330-pound rated capacity. It is powered by an 18V cordless drill or an optional Power Pack Kit for ease of elevation.

“The affordable LiftPod raises productivity, while its portability makes it a versatile solution for a variety of applications,” said Randy Marzicola, JLG Industries director of channel development. “As a worldwide leader in access equipment, we believe in the importance of innovation and responding to the needs of the marketplace. We’re looking forward to demonstrating the LiftPod line of products to facility management professionals attending World Workplace to showcase a safe low-level access alternative to rolling ladders and scaffolding.”

JLG will be displaying the new LiftPod® FS60 at the Expo. The FS60 is ANSI A92.3-2006/CSA B354.1-04 compliant, and has a 30-inch base that allows it to be transported through standard doorways and tight aisles fully assembled. With a 12-foot working height and a 6-foot standing height, the FS60 has non-marking rear caster wheels for enhanced mobility. The FS80, also on display, has a working height of 14 feet, and an 8-foot standing height.

Attendees who visit the JLG booth will have the opportunity to examine how the LiftPod assists with maintenance and repair in a variety of environments, including industrial, commercial, hospitality, educational and healthcare facilities, as well as office buildings.  LiftPod’s YouTube channel features the LiftPod working in these settings as well.

IFMA’s World Workplace Conference & Expo is an annual three-day educational and networking event focused on the future of the built environment. In addition to a conference offering more than 60 educational sessions the event will feature an expo with more than 250 exhibitors. Last year’s event gathered more than 4,900 facility maintenance professionals from 40 countries, and more than 2,000 companies in 20 workplace-related industries.
