McConnellsburg, Pa. — April 12, 2016 — JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK] and a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers, today introduced a number of new customer-focused equipment and services, including the preview of the world’s tallest articulating boom lift, at booth F.904/5 during Bauma 2016 at the Messe München exhibition center in Munich, Germany.
In addition to the new 1500AJP articulating boom lift, the JLG exhibit includes demonstrations of the latest in hybrid technology and aftermarket support. The booth also features a broad array of JLG® telehandlers and aerial work platforms (AWPs).
“The products displayed at the JLG booth, along with several new service offerings, underscore JLG’s ongoing commitment to its customers,” said Karel Huijser, general manager and vice president, JLG EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). “Our goal is to support our customers with a service-for-life approach that provides them with quality products and services, as well as financing options and aftermarket services that include technical support, aftermarket parts, and training.”
As the world’s tallest articulating boom lift, the 1500AJP features a category-leading work envelope of more than 74,000 cubic meters of reachable space, a working outreach of 23.5 meters, and a platform capacity of 270 kilograms unrestricted and 450 kilograms restricted, allowing operators to reach more work space and take more materials with them than any other articulating boom lift. The lift also leads the industry in lift speeds—2 minutes 15 seconds to move from the ground to maximum platform height—allowing operators to spend more time working and less time positioning the machine.
Enhanced control panel protection takes center stage with today’s announcement that the JLG SkyGuard® enhanced control panel protection system will become standard on the JLG portfolio of boom lifts. The system’s revolutionary reverse functionality is the only feature of its kind in the market, and the installed system can be viewed on a group of machines at the booth.
The booth also features a preview of the JLG 3510PS telehandler. This all-new machine offers excellent performance, comfort, and serviceability with a 3.5-ton lift capacity,
10-meter lift height and a new cab that reflects the future approach to JLG telehandler design.
Visitors to the booth will see a pre-owned JLG 1930ES electric scissor lift, an example of the JLG Certified Pre-owned Equipment Program. Already successful in the United States and United Kingdom, the proven certification program is being launched in the EMEA region to help customers take the guesswork out of buying used equipment.
JLG is also using Bauma to announce updates to its Toucan 8E and 10E mast boom lifts that are designed to reduce total cost of ownership. Improvements include standard AGM batteries, a grease-free mast, reduced weight, and lightweight options for both models that introduce a one-person outdoor rating. JLG will showcase its Toucan 12E Plus at its booth. This compact machine allows operators to access hard-to-reach areas thanks to a versatile articulating jib that provides horizontal outreach of 6.05 meters, up-and-over height of 7.12 meters, and a 345-degree rotating mast for unmatched positioning capabilities.
JLG is also introducing its X15J Plus Compact Crawler Boom at Bauma. This Compact Crawler Boom offers a larger platform capacity of 230 kilograms and an increased platform height of 15.4 meters compared to the X14J. JLG also reduced the width and stowed height of the X15J Plus and extended its contract with Hinowa into new markets in Benelux, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, making the JLG X15J Plus part of a global Compact Crawler Boom product offering.
If durability is top of mind for Bauma attendees, they will appreciate the JLG 460SJ and 400SC telescopic boom lifts and 520AJ articulating boom lift, which are equipped with DuraTough hoods. DuraTough is a stout, yet flexible, polymer that offers heat, impact, and corrosion resistance, along with sound and vibration insulation. As a result, DuraTough hoods experience less damage and breakage, which means less maintenance, fewer repairs, and increased uptime.
The JLG exhibit also features the X26J Plus Compact Crawler Boom, an example of JLG machines featuring lightweight designs that do not compromise reach or working heights. Additional light but powerful machines on display include three access platforms from Power Towers by JLG, which showcase the new color scheme and nomenclature for this product line:
- EcoLift 1.5: a low-level, easy-to-maneuver, lightweight lift with a maximum working height of 3 meters.
- EcoLift 2.2: uses the same patented stored power system as the EcoLift 1.5, but with a maximum working height of 4.03 meters.
- 830SP: a fully self-propelled, lightweight lift with a deck that expands to 1.5 meters, working height of 4.50 meters, and platform capacity of 200 kilograms.
In addition to these products, JLG is showing the following telehandlers and AWPs at Bauma:
- Telehandlers
- 2505H: a versatile and compact machine, thanks to a small turning radius and good lift capacity. The telehandler features a maximum lift capacity of 2500 kilograms/5512 pounds, maximum lift height of 5.60 meters/18 feet, and maximum reach of 3.30 meters/11 feet.
- 4014PS with Work Platform Option provides another example of the versatility of telehandlers. The 4014PS offers a maximum lift height of 13.7 meters and with a maximum lift capacity of 4000 kilograms. Work platforms are offered in both a 1.8 meter and 4.5 meter widths and adhere to the latest EN-280 regulations.
- 4017RS provides owners with a simple, reliable, comfortable machine. This is the result of a cab design that allows operators to adapt quickly to the equipment, a proven power train for increased reliability, and a simplified boom design that requires less service and provides easy access. The 4017RS – a road homologated version for Germany with raised cabin – has a maximum lift capacity of 4000 kilograms/8818 pounds, a maximum reach of 13 meters/43 feet, and a maximum lift height of 17.10 meters/56 feet.
- Aerial work platforms:
- 10RS: features efficient operation with proportional electric drive and industry-leading duty cycles. With a machine width of 1.22 meters/4 feet and a platform height of 9.75 meters/32 feet, the 10RS is able to travel through standard doorways.
- 2632ES: offers improved productivity thanks to the lift’s proportional electric drive, reduced charging time, and longer run times. The 2632ES is rated for dual capacity.
- 530LRT: newest rough terrain scissor lift offers superior terrainability for tough jobsites, thanks to a standard oscillating axle. With a platform height of 18.15 meters/53 feet and a 680-kilogram/1,500-pound platform capacity, the 530LRT also offers an optional 7.2-meter Megadeck to handle more workers and materials.
- 10MSP: drivable stock picker that offers superior maneuverability, thanks to a zero turning radius, and less downtime as a result of a built-in automatic charger. One-hand operation and drivability at full height contributes to increased efficiency, and the 10MSP features a platform height of 3.05 meters/10 feet. In addition, the 10MSP features an optional electric tray to handle more materials and supplies.
- H340AJ: four-wheel electric-drive hybrid machine that combines diesel fuel and an electric power system to provide the power and durability of a diesel-powered machine, while saving operational costs. Compared to an all-diesel machine, the H340AJ provides substantial fuel savings, is quieter (less than 69 decibels), and produces fewer carbon emissions. The hybrid boom features a platform height of nearly 10.36 meters/34 feet, a 5.18-meter/17-foot up-and-over reach, and a platform capacity of 226.80 kilograms/500 pounds
