Bolt Usage and Torque Application
Using bolts of the proper length is extremely important. A bolt that is too long will bottom before the head is flush against its related part. If a bolt is too short, the thread area will not fully engage and hold the part properly. When replacing bolts, use bolts that have the same specifications of the originals or equivalents.

Unless specific torque requirements are given within the repair procedure or text, standard torque values should be used on heat-treated bolts, studs and steel nuts in accordance with recommended shop practices. Refer to the torque chart in your machine’s service manual.

Emission Standards
In an effort to significantly reduce emissions from off-highway diesel engines, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) began rolling out regulations in Tier levels. In 2011, Tier 4 interim standards were introduced, and in 2015 the program will conclude with Tier 4 Final standards. As part of our commitment to efficiency and to reducing environmental impact, the JLG® and SkyTrak® telehandlers feature Tier 4i compliant engines, and our family of electric-powered and hybrid lifts, scissor lifts and compact crawlers help to keep your operation cleaner and greener.
