Design Enhancement of the Rear Motor Mount Bracket Used on Units with Cummins Engines
SIB 12-10: SkyTrak® Legacy Telehandlers 6036, 6042, 8042, 10042 and 10054 equipped with Cummins engines.
Reports from the field have shown weld failures of the rear motor mount used on the above-referenced SkyTrak models with Cummins engines. JLG has designed a motor mount kit (p/n 1001145164), which contains an improved mount as well as installation instructions (p/n 31200836). JLG suggests that you inspect the rear motor mount for cracked or failed welds at the units’ next scheduled maintenance interval and if cracked or failed welds are discovered, install p/n 1001145164.
JLG is extending the warranty of JLG# 1001096479 (rear mount) for a period of two (2) years from issuance of this notice regardless of the age of the machine. Thank you for participating in our survey!
In July, we launched a Ground Support survey to you, our loyal readers, to learn more about what you’d like to read in our e-newsletter and if we are continuing to provide you with the information that you need most. Your insight was incredibly helpful and we’ve listened to what you had to say. Many of you missed the Trivia section, so be on the lookout for that in the future. Also, to express our thanks for your time, all participants were entered into a drawing to receive a prize. Three names were randomly pulled and the winners are:
• Steven Remson of H&E Equipment (North Las Vegas, NV) • Jason Beatty of Cleveland Brothers (Pittston, PA) • Robert Rybak of Titan Machinery (Skakopee. MN)
Their prizes should be arriving to them shortly! Thanks to all who have taken the time to answer our questions. Your feedback is important to us.
