Construction Industry Forecasting

Which areas of construction have seen a decline in the past year?

Manufacturing has seen the greatest decline over the year, followed by offices, education and amusement & recreation. Institutional building forecasts for 2013, which were originally positive, are now expected to decrease.

Spending on educational construction fell 10 percent in the 12 months ended July 31, 2013 to $80 billion, making it the second-largest non-residential construction sector. Highway and street construction fell 4 percent to $78 billion. Spending in both segments is expected to continue falling.
