The 1930ES electric scissor lift is a prime example of how we factor in customer concerns about serviceability and durability to build low TCO into every function of a machine.

For many rental companies, the 19 ft electric scissor lift is one of the most versatile and highly utilized machines in a rental fleet. We know that rental owners and end users value its versatility, but we also know from their feedback that issues like depleted batteries and hydraulic hose leaks can keep this machine out of service and drive up equipment-related expenses for service calls, repairs and battery replacement. The 1930ES electric scissor lift was designed to address our customers’ demand for a durable, serviceable and rental-ready scissor lift with low total cost of ownership (TCO).

1930ES: Designed for optimal TCO
From the outset, the 1930ES electric scissor lift was designed with features and functions to maximize uptime and minimize operating costs. Better-than-average duty cycles, reliable battery life, streamlined hydraulics and ease of serviceability make this a desirable and profitable machine for rental customers.

More duty cycles get you more uptime
For rental customers and end users, having a scissor lift that can deliver more duty cycles on a single charge boosts productivity and keeps the machine in demand. The 1930ES was built with an electric drive system for greater efficiency and uptime. Industry-leading duty cycles keep the 1930ES on the job longer for end users, giving it a higher utilization rate for rental customers. The electric drive and duty-cycle endurance of the 1930ES put less wear on the batteries as well.

Better battery life for fewer service calls
Many of the service calls we see on electric AWPs like the 1930ES are related to dead batteries. The fewer duty cycles a machine produces, the sooner the batteries will fully discharge, potentially requiring a service call to remove the machine from the site and replace it with a charged unit — resulting in downtime and potential extra costs to transport the out-of-service equipment.

The high number of duty cycles produced by the electric drive puts less wear on the batteries. It also minimizes the number of times the batteries will discharge and recharge. This enhanced battery life results in fewer replacements needed over the life of a machine. A set of 4x6V batteries can cost nearly $400 — a direct impact on TCO and additional savings for customers.

Leak reduction equates to better serviceability
Service calls and associated expenses for hose leaks can drive up TCO for equipment owners. We factored in this critical serviceability element throughout the entire ES Series of scissor lifts. (Competitor brand scissor lifts can have as many as 20 hoses and 40 leak points.) The 1930ES (like other ES models) was designed with two hydraulic hoses and four hydraulic connection points. This streamlining of hoses and connection points greatly reduces the chance for hydraulic leaks.

As a result, users are making fewer service calls for hose leaks and replacements, maximizing uptime for the 1930ES. There are also fewer associated costs with cleaning up hydraulic fluid from leaks. The reduction in hydraulic hoses and potential leaks extends the TCO to savings on hydraulic oil: A leak of one drop of oil every 10 seconds equates to 40 gallons of fluid per year.

By putting the pump and tank in a self-contained cylinder assembly, we were able to simplify access for ease of serviceability, reducing downtime for any repairs.


Robust platform for durability
While we conceived the 1930ES with features to help lower TCO, we’ve made material improvements based on customer feedback. Customers spoke of the need for a platform that stands up to wear and tear and can be easily repaired, rather than replaced, if damaged. As a result, we implemented a steel platform. Along with the durability and rigidity that comes from a steel deck, customers find it easier and less costly to repair it.
