New Wire Rope Replacement Intervals

Longer wire rope replacement intervals set a new industry standard

JLG Wire Rope Mandatory wire rope and sheave replacement intervals have been extended from 8 to 12 years, provided the total number of machine hours does not exceed 7,000*. This sets a new industry standard for machine longevity and reduces total cost of ownership.

Over the typical life cycle of a machine, more years between replacement means more uptime and a potentially higher resale value when owners replenish their fleets. For select machines, it also delivers significant savings.

To receive the maximum return on this change, keep the following in mind:

  • The new wire rope replacement interval is 12 years, or 7,000 machine hours.
  • The affected JLG boom lift models are 600S, 600SJ, 600SC, 600SJC, 601S, 660SJ, 660SJC, 680S, 800S, 810SJ, 860SJ, 1200SJP, 1350SJP, 1500SJ and 1850SJ.

When you do replace wire rope sheaves, use JLG wire rope kits to streamline your service and reduce downtime. Order wire rope kits via Online Express.
