JLG REBRANDS POWER TOWERS PRODUCTS TO REFLECT JLG BRAND

11 April 2016

McConnellsburg, Pa. — April 12, 2016 — JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK] and a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers, is rebranding its newly acquired Power Towers low-level access models to reflect the JLG brand in all markets globally. The result of this effort includes new branding, model nomenclature, and color scheme, which will be unveiled at booth F.904/5 during Bauma 2016. Due to the strong history and equity of the Power Towers brand in the United Kingdom and parts of Europe, the existing Power Towers branding will also remain intact at this time.

JLG is launching the full line of low-level access lifts globally under the JLG brand name. JLG’s self-propelled and push-around low-level access models are easy to maneuver through job sites and offer a quiet operation that makes them a preferred piece of equipment on construction sites and for industrial applications. All of the new JLG low-level access lifts offer attractive alternatives to ladders and scaffolding, giving workers the ability to use both hands on the job rather than needing to maintain three points of contact.

Formerly sold under the Power Towers branding and painted blue, the rebranded lifts will change to the familiar JLG orange and cream color scheme across the entire portfolio. Model nomenclature will also change to align with the JLG global product portfolio. Changes to the branding, nomenclature and color scheme will begin to be phased in starting this spring.

Power Towers, a leading low-level access equipment manufacturer based in Leicester, UK, was acquired by JLG in 2015.  “As an innovator and leader in the low-level access industry, this is the next step in our evolution to expand our product line globally and become an even stronger partner to our customers. We will continue to leverage the strong history that we have built with the Power Towers brand in the UK over the last decade, while capitalizing on the strong global network of JLG,” said Brian King, managing director of Power Towers.

“We’re very excited to announce the continuation of the global roll-out plan for this newly acquired low-level access product line by integrating them into the JLG global product family,” said Alan Loux, JLG Industries VP – Global Marketing “Each of these products is a leader in the low-level access space and nicely complements the JLG vertical lift portfolio, which includes mast lifts, stock pickers, and LiftPod® personal portable lifts.”

JLG is introducing the EcoLift line of game-changing, non-powered, environmentally friendly vertical lifts, offering a safe, cost-efficient alternative to ladders and scaffolding. The innovative EcoLift models are virtually maintenance-free, thanks to a patented stored-power lift/lower mechanism that requires no batteries, no power, and no hydraulic oil.

Measuring just 0.70 meters in width, the lifts easily roll through standard doorways on robust non-marking casters & wheels and maneuver around all areas of a facility. With a truly “construction-tough” design, the rental-ready lifts offer unlimited duty cycles and can be used 24/7, contributing to a low total cost of ownership. Under the new nomenclature, the PecoLift and EcoLift models will become the JLG EcoLift 1.5 and JLG EcoLift 2.2 (numbers designate platform height).

“The EcoLift series is a rare, ground-breaking concept in the rental industry because of its robust and rental-tough design,” said Paul Kreutzwiser, JLG Industries global category director, scissors/verticals. The JLG EcoLift 1.5 and EcoLift 2.2 are easy to operate and environmentally friendly, and provide working heights of 3.5 and 4.2 meters, respectively, by simply turning a handle to move the platform up or down. What’s more, the lifts’ lightweight design makes them easy to push around a job site. Both models are rated for 150-kilogram capacity, leaving room for materials and tools to boost productivity. And, because there are no hydraulics or motors involved, both of the eco-friendly lifts are virtually silent, making them a preferred piece of equipment for finish work on construction sites or even as maintenance access equipment in schools, hospitals, and other institutions. JLG is also introducing the new JLG 830 line of push-around and self-propelled mast lifts.  The new JLG 830P push-around lift uses hydraulics to lift operators to a working height of 4.5 meters and offers workers a generous 1.0 x 0.73-meter platform. Like the EcoLifts, the 830P is very lightweight, making it easy for operators to push the lift into position, and heavy-duty auto-lock wheels on elevation provide a secure base.

Unique to the 830 line is an innovative tilt-up platform that, when locked into the service position, provides complete access to the serviceable components, even if the machine is inoperable.  “Brian King, along with founding partner and engineering lead Mark Richardson, leveraged their extensive industry experience to design the 830 (Nano & Nano SP) family around service and ease-of-operation benefits,” Kreutzwiser explained.

Previous Power Towers Nano models will become JLG 830 models, aligning with JLG’s platform height/machine width description (8 feet platform height/30 inches wide).
