JLG to Present the New LiftPod at STAFDA

Mittwoch, 9. November 2011
McConnellsburg, Pa. (November 10, 2011) — JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK], today announced that it will introduce its line of LiftPod® personal portable lifts at booths # 137–139 at the Specialty Tools & Fastener’s Distributors Association’s (STAFDA’s) 35th  Annual Convention and Trade Show held in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, which will take place Nov. 13–15 in San Antonio, Texas.

LiftPod, a line of aerial work platforms, combines the portability of a ladder with the stability of a work platform. Selling for around $2,500, the LiftPod, personal portable lift, which has several key safety features, is an ideal solution for job sites that require low-level access. The LiftPod is an affordable, productive, portable alternative to ladders, scaffolding and rolling ladders, for a variety of heights.

JLG will be displaying the innovative LiftPod® FS60 at STAFDA for the first time. Compliant with ANSI A92.3-2006/CSA B354.1-04, the FS60 features a 30-inch base that can be transported through standard doorways and tight aisles fully assembled. With a 12-foot working height and a 6-foot standing height, the FS60 has non-marking rear caster wheels for enhanced mobility. The FS80 has a working height of 14 feet, and an 8-foot standing height.

The lift reduces overall risk in the workplace and boosts fall protection for workers, which is the second most frequently cited standard by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). To further increase safety, the personal lift features an enclosed carriage and a secure platform, providing workers with complete, hands-free 360-degree range of motion.

“JLG is excited to introduce the FS60 as a new, innovative solution to STAFDA members. We are confident STAFDA members will not only appreciate the breakthrough lightweight design, but the new solution LiftPod offers to address safety and facility professionals’ needs to meet OSHA standards,” said Randy Marzicola, JLG Industries director of channel development. “As a leader in the aerial work platform market, JLG has developed the FS60 in response to an acute need in the marketplace for a safe yet productive alternative to the traditional ladder that can be used in a wide variety of applications.”

The LiftPod boosts productivity at any job site as it can be operated by just one person, who can climb in the platform and immediately begin the job. The entire lift consists of three lightweight components, each weighing 50 pounds. For increased portability, the LiftPod can be assembled and disassembled in less than 30 seconds and once taken apart, it can fit into the back of a pick-up truck, van or SUV. With an attachable work tray that holds up to 33 pounds of tools and materials, the LiftPod has a 330-pound rated capacity. In addition, it is powered by an 18V cordless drill or an optional Power Pack Kit for ease of elevation.

Members who visit the JLG booth will have the opportunity to observe how the LiftPod performs in a variety of settings, including industrial, commercial, hospitality, educational and healthcare facilities, as well as office buildings. LiftPod’s YouTube channel features the LiftPod working in these environments as well.

STAFDA’s 35th Annual Convention and Trade Show will feature more than 700 booths with products in more than 35 categories. Attendees will have the opportunity to join educational sessions and workshops, as well as network with other distributors, see new products, meet with supplier executives and source new lines.
