Rental Revenues for Aerial Work Platforms Expected to Increase
Aerial work platform rental revenues are expected to increase 5% in 2011 and continue to grow to 11% in 2012, cites the IPAF U.S. Powered Access Rental Report 2011. New to the report is a fleet mix analysis, which indicates booms represent about 40% and scissors about 60% of the U.S. AWP fleet.
Trailer-Mounted Equipment Still Popular
Innovative controls, towable mobility and job site effectiveness are highlights.
Typically used for tree trimming, building maintenance and residential construction, trailer-mounted platforms are still popular with users. From a productivity standpoint, for the JLG trailer range, “Rental companies and end-users can integrate their existing equipment for use in the platform,” says Jeff Ford, Global Product Director at JLG.
OSHA and Scaffold Industry Association Renew Alliance
Both groups work together to promote worker safety.
Goals of the renewed OSHA and Scaffold Industry Association alliance include increasing awareness of OSHA's rulemaking and enforcement initiatives and developing new effective training and education programs. Scaffold safety, and issues related to mast climbing scaffolding, suspended scaffolding and aerial lift equipment, will continue to be emphasized.
